Our Wedding

It all started on New Year's Eve, 2021. Reid’s best friend since elementary school, Maddy, decided to introduce us at a party at my cousin Grant and his wife Kayla's house. For me, I knew there was something about him that immediately caught my attention, but what I didn’t know was that I had just met my future husband. Reid, however, knew instantly and says it was love at first sight. We were both invited to multiple parties at my cousins house throughout that year, and when we saw each other, we both were too nervous to make a move so we kept the conversations short and surface level. Ten months later in October, we were at yet another party, and I finally decided to make the move and have a deeper conversation with him. We exchanged numbers the next morning and started dating in November.

I lived in Grosse Pointe Woods and Reid lived in Grand Rapids, two and a half hours away. In the beginning, every weekend we would drive to Lansing as a half way date and started to wonder what our future would look like. Lansing dates turned into weekend long visits, and in May of 2024, I decided to make the move to Grand Rapids.

After just over a year of living together and making countless memories, Reid proposed at MSU Gardens in June 2025, and now we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on August 8, 2026.

I met Jackie in the spring of 2018 on the first day of Physical Therapist Assistant school at Macomb Community College. I definitely needed her study notes more than she needed mine, and since then we’ve kept each other laughing and our school mom (Ginger) guessing.

I met Maddie on the tennis court in 2008. We had been paired up as doubles partners and since then we have been partners in crime every step of the way. We have been through everything together and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I met Ginger in the spring of 2018 on the first day of Physical Therapist Assistant school at Macomb Community College. It was the hours upon hours of studying and parties hosted at her house that I knew I had found a school mom.

I met Hadley freshman year of high school at Grosse Pointe South in 2013 through Maddie. We quickly became best friends and kept each other from failing French class for 3 years in a row.

I met Lauren in 2015 on the tennis court in high school. She was a freshman and I was a junior. It was with Lauren that I visited Grand Rapids for the first time and realized that it was going to be my forever home.

Yun-Jae isn’t just the best man—he’s been one of the best friends I’ve had for most of my life. We first bonded over basketball in middle school, running plays and making jokes on the court. That friendship only grew stronger through high school and college, especially during our time living together in East Lansing. Whether it was late-night talks, shared victories, or helping each other through tough times, Yun-Jae’s been there through it all. Loyal, hilarious, and always there for me. I’m grateful to have him standing beside me on this day.

I met Prentis in 2022 when we started working side by side—and it didn’t take long for our conversations to go beyond calls and meetings. As we swapped stories about life, we realized just how much we had in common. Since then, Prentis has become one of my most trusted friends—the kind of person I can turn to for advice, perspective, or just a good laugh. No matter the situation, he’s always shown up with wisdom, support, and a calm strength that’s hard to come by. I’m proud to have him standing with me on this day.

Tin and I met in our college days in East Lansing, where we shared a roof—and a whole lot of late nights. Whether it was throwing parties, gaming until sunrise, or just hanging out between classes, Tin was always down for a good time and a good laugh. Living together for two years turned us from roommates into lifelong friends. He’s the kind of guy who brings energy, loyalty, and a perfectly timed joke to any situation. I’m lucky to have him in the lineup today.

Sam and I go back to high school, but it was after graduation that our friendship grew. We spent most days together—cracking jokes, grabbing food, and sharing moments that still come up in stories today. Even though he’s now living on the other side of the state, that hasn’t changed a thing. Sam’s the kind of friend who always makes time, keeps the connection strong, and brings a great vibe wherever he goes. I’m proud to have him here for the big day.

Henry and I crossed paths in high school, but it was after graduation that our friendship really found its groove. From teeing off on the golf course to blackjack at the casino, Henry’s always brought good energy and great company. He’s the kind of friend who makes any hangout better, no matter the setting. I’m pumped to have him here, adding his signature chill to the celebration.

Yes! We reserved a block of rooms last August, at the Atheneum Hotel in downtown Detroit, just minutes from the Detroit Athletic Club. Our discounted wedding rate of $239/night was available for a limited number of rooms—and unfortunately, due to a Chris Stapleton concert happening the same night, thatdiscounted block is now fully booked.*** However, we still encourage all guests to call the Atheneum Hotel directly to check for availability as it may change day-to-day, and while the discounted block is now full, the hotel may still have rooms at their best available standard rate.*** Importantly, because guests can cancel up to the day before, rooms may open back up as we get closer to the wedding. If you’d like to stay at the Atheneum, we strongly recommend calling periodically and trying again, as availability can change day‑to‑day.To inquire, call 313-772-2323.
